Information on Tesla’s China website indicates that the company has quietly launched a battery recycling service in China.

So far, Tesla has not publicly announced its battery recycling service, but has only unveiled the service on a Q&A page on its website.

In it, the company says that its service centers around the world can handle any battery that no longer meets customer demand, and that end-of-life lithium-ion batteries do not go to landfill and are 100% recyclable.

At the same time, the company also said that extending the life of a battery pack is a preferred option over recycling for environmental and commercial reasons.

As a result, Tesla says it will make every effort to extend the life of each battery pack before it is scrapped and recycled for consumer use.
