BYD files patent for wearable device with car-finding function

BYD has applied for a patent for a “wearable device with a car finding function” with a filing date of December 2017, which was only recently made public, according to data provider Tianyancha.

The patent abstract shows that the patent relates to a wearable device with a car-finding function that enables users to quickly find their vehicles at long distances.

On January 19, the Chinese automaker announced 283 patents covering technologies such as solid-state batteries, battery thermal management, and self-driving control systems.

Two of the patents were for solid-state batteries: “a cathode material and its preparation method and a solid-state lithium battery” and “a solid-state electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries and its preparation method and a solid-state lithium-ion battery”.

On December 1, 2020, BYD also applied for the patent of “a gel polymer battery and its preparation method”.
