Tesla delivers more than 180,000 units in Q4, China-made Model Y to be delivered soon

Tesla delivered 180,570 units in the fourth quarter and saw 499,550 cumulative deliveries in 2020, the company said Saturday. It’s a new milestone for the electric car maker, but slightly below CEO Elon Musk’s goal of delivering 500,000 units for the year.

Production of the China-made Model Y has begun in Shanghai, and the company expects to begin deliveries soon.

Model S and Model X production was 16,097 units in the fourth quarter, with 18,920 deliveries; Model 3 and Model Y production was 163,660 units, with 161,650 deliveries.

For the full year 2020, 54,805 Model S and Model X units were produced and 57,039 units were delivered cumulatively; 454,932 Model 3 and Model Y units were produced and 442,511 units were delivered cumulatively.
