The central Chinese province of Henan was recently hit by rare heavy rains and flooding, and several technology companies have announced donations, with Li Auto being the latest.
Li Auto donated 10 million yuan ($1.54 million) to Henan Province through the China Charity Federation, the company said on July 21.
Li Auto will closely track the situation and fully support the rescue efforts, the company said.
Since July 18, the city of Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, has been hit by heavy rainfall, with cumulative average precipitation reaching 449 millimeters and 38 percent of weather stations measuring more than 500 millimeters.
The rainfall was extremely rare, with some Internet users claiming that the amount of rainfall was like having 150 reservoirs of Hangzhou’s West Lake dumped into Zhengzhou in one hour.
The disaster has left 12 people dead in Zhengzhou city and 100,000 people have moved for shelter, Xinhua reported on Wednesday.
Thirty-two large and medium-sized reservoirs in Henan province have exceeded the flood limit, and some rivers have experienced severe flooding.
Some areas in central, western and northern Henan have experienced widespread urban flooding and flooding of farmland, according to the report.
A reservoir in Zhengzhou collapsed early Wednesday morning, and the Henan Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Command raised the emergency response level from II to the highest level of I.
