BYD presents Dolphin model at digital entertainment show ChinaJoy

BYD recently showcased the Dolphin model at ChinaJoy, a digital entertainment exhibition in Shanghai. The car will be based on BYD’s latest e-Platform 3.0 and will feature BYD’s latest “marine aesthetic” design concept for the first time.

BYD recently showcased the Dolphin model at ChinaJoy, a digital entertainment exhibition in Shanghai. The car will be based on BYD’s latest e-Platform 3.0 and will feature BYD’s latest “marine aesthetic” design concept for the first time.

Priced at RMB 110,000 ($17,022) – RMB 130,000 during presale, the car measures 4,070 (4,125)/1,770/1,570mm and have a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

The car comes standard with a blade battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 70 kilowatts. It has a top speed of 150km/h.

It is positioned as a compact pure electric car and is available in five color options.

It is worth mentioning that the car has two different versions of weight, 1,285kg and 1,405kg, which means it will have two range options.

BYD‘s flagship model is the Han, and the company launched a lower-priced standard-range version of the Han EV on July 31, after Tesla cut the price of the Model 3 in China.

This model has an NEDC range of 506km and a subsidized price of RMB 209,800.

Previously it was priced at RMB 229,800, RMB 255,800 and RMB 279,500 for three versions with NEDC ranges of 605km, 605km and 550km respectively.
