Electric cars produced at Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory have begun to be exported to other regions, sending 8,210 Model Ys to Europe in July, the Shanghai Securities News reported Monday.

This was also the first export of Model Y models to Europe from Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory as a new export base, the report said.

In July, Tesla’s Shanghai plant exported 24,347 electric vehicles, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Tesla China’s wholesale sales in July were 32,968 units, up 199 percent year-over-year, according to the data.

Tesla sold 11,041 units in China in July, including 6,477 Model 3 cars, down 41.2 percent year-over-year.

However, this did not reflect demand for the Model 3 in China, as Tesla increased exports in July.

Locally produced Tesla vehicles delivered 8,621 units in China in July, down 69 percent from 28,138 units in June, according to the CPCA.
