By the end of August, 34.34 percent of Nio owners had at least one battery swap station within three kilometers of their homes, according to data released Friday by Nio.
The percentage increased by 3.48 percentage points from 30.86 percent at the end of July and by 14.02 percentage points from 20.32 percent at the end of January.

At the first Nio Power Day event on July 9, the company’s co-founder and president Qin Lihong said that only 29 percent of users had a battery swap station within a 3-kilometer radius at that time, which was unsatisfactory.
Nio wants to have 90 percent of users within a 3-kilometer radius of a battery swap station by 2025, he said.
The company put 87 new battery swap stations into operation in August, one of the most in a single month.
Nio put a new battery swap station into operation Friday in Xinxiang City in central China’s Henan Province, bringing the total number of facilities in China to 428.
Since April, Nio has significantly accelerated the construction of battery swap stations, allowing the average number of users served by a single battery swap station to continue to decline to improve the user experience.
At the end of April, each Nio battery swap station served an average of 606 users, which dropped to 446 at the end of June and further to 354 at the end of August, according to data released by the company.
