A BMW driver in Greece decided to test his drifting skills on a winding coastal road—but his impromptu stunt session ended with flashing lights and an unplanned pit stop courtesy of undercover police.

The car in question appears to be a white E36 BMW 3-Series Coupe, fitted with an M3-style body kit and an aftermarket rear wing. As the driver attempted to slide through a corner at high speed, the rear end snapped loose, sending the car spinning wildly in the opposite direction.

Just moments after the BMW screeched past, its tires protesting loudly, a Porsche Cayenne emerged from the shadows. It wasn’t there for a casual drive, as the SUV was an undercover police vehicle, and within seconds, its strobe lights were flashing. The officers rolled up to the BMW, which had conveniently come to a stop after its dramatic miscalculation. Given what they had just witnessed, there was little doubt the driver was in trouble.

Luckily, the BMW driver’s reckless maneuvers didn’t result in an accident. Shortly after, two cars appeared from the opposite direction, narrowly avoiding a collision by just a few seconds.

The video of the incident was posted on Instagram by the Greek automotive YouTube channel Car Jackals, complete with an ironically fitting soundtrack: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz. The clip quickly gained attention, so much, in fact, that the uploader eventually disabled the comment section.

The stunt took place on the Limanakia Vouliagmenis road, a well-known coastal route just outside Athens, infamous for illegal street racing. Local police are well aware of its reputation, which is why undercover patrols keep a close eye on thrill-seekers looking to turn public roads into makeshift racetracks. As this BMW driver learned the hard way, some spectators come equipped with badges and sirens.
