Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) will hold a tech showcase event for its new flagship hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) model, Zeekr 9X, early next month, with the official launch several months away.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today that the tech showcase event for Zeekr 9X — its first hybrid model — will begin at 7:00 pm Beijing Time on July 9.
“Built with the best native new energy architecture, the most luxurious SUV of the new energy era,” Zeekr wrote on Weibo.
Zeekr will showcase multiple cutting-edge technologies at the event, including super hybrid and intelligent chassis technologies, a spokesperson told CnEVPost.
Zeekr 9X is set to officially launch in the third quarter, with an expected starting price of about RMB 600,000 (about $83,550), the spokesperson said.
Zeekr 9X made its global debut on the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 23, with the company stating that the SUV would be equipped with CATL’s (SHE: 300750) Freevoy Battery, offering an all-electric range exceeding 380 kilometers, making it the longest-range hybrid SUV globally.
CATL launched the Freevoy Battery for hybrid vehicles in October 2024, offering over 400 kilometers of range and supporting 4C fast charging, enabling hybrid vehicles to deliver an experience similar to that of a battery electric vehicle (BEV).
Zeekr 9X’s powertrain combines the advantages of BEVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), delivering disruptive innovation in performance, efficiency, and overall driving experience, Zeekr said on April 23.
The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3 seconds, redefining high-performance electric driving, Zeekr noted at the time.
Its 2.0T hybrid engine leads its class with an output power of 205 kW, while its dual-chamber air suspension and active stabilizer bar ensure comfort and agility, according to the company.
Zeekr 9X will be the first to feature Zeekr’s latest G-Pilot H9 autonomous driving system, which is equipped with dual Nvidia Thor chips and has 1,400 TOPS of computing power.
It also features five LiDAR sensors, enabling advanced L3 driving capabilities, according to Zeekr.
